Before Buying Cosmetics: Ingredients, Pack Size and Directions
Two products with similar names can have different formulas, sizes or application methods. Reading the product page and packaging carefully helps you make a better-informed choice.
The description and INCI list serve different purposes
The short description explains the product and its place in skincare. The Ingredients section gives the formula’s INCI list. Read both, especially if you know that an ingredient does not suit you.
A name such as “hyaluronic acid” or “niacinamide” does not describe the entire product on its own. Check the other ingredients, intended use and application area, without assuming benefits that are not stated in the product information.
Check millilitres and pack contents
Consider the price together with the amount supplied. Compare similar product types and note the pack size. For sets, check the cream, serum and any other included product’s size separately.
Read the application area and frequency
Face, eye, body and hair products are not all used in the same way. Look for each product’s directions on its page. Check the packaging again when it arrives and follow any specific warnings.
Keep the product information
The name and code help when asking a question or reordering. Keep the packaging so that you can refer to directions, storage guidance and any period-after-opening information provided.
If details differ or anything is unclear
If the page, packaging or set description raises a question, contact us before buying. Send the product name or code and your specific question so we can check the correct formula and packaging.
